Self-Esteem

Harvard and Ohio State University surveys show that 80% of the people would like to improve self-esteem and self-confidence. The problem is that most of these people do not know that the origin of their problems is a due to a lack of self-esteem.

The research conducted by Professors Martin Seligman and Roy Baumeister show that a high level of self-esteem is linked to higher levels of happiness.

Negative emotions are observed with low self-esteem: anger, envy, jealousy, pessimism, regret, greed, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, uncertainty, and fear from failure. These emotions affect our thoughts, and actions, hence our entire life!

On the opposite side, high self-esteem has a positive impact on emotions and result in: joy, peace, optimism, serenity, kindness, benevolence, empathy, self- confidence, generosity, compassion, courage, and risk-taking.

Having low self-esteem is a terrible thing because it can affect every part of our life.

Self-esteem isn’t just thinking well of yourself. It is also a consistent feeling of self-respect. It has a stabilizing influence on the person and provides control as well as a sense of what is right. Many concerns can damage our self-esteem, which may happen to any of us in a way or another, but the good news is that it is improvable.

The process begins with a perceived criticism or a negative judgment from others, which triggers a low self-esteem. But the repetition of such critical thoughts reinforces the beliefs. In fact, reinforcement is a cognitive approach and a very powerful tool that conditions our behavior and mind: the more the behavior is reinforced, the more it is likely to be repeated. Thus, it is enough to reinforce the belief that “Everything I do leads to failure” to increase the probability of feeling that I am worthless. By doing this process and repeating it, we learn to undervalue ourselves. We encounter fear and learn the “I can’t”.

Let us, for a moment, observe the terms conscious and unconscious and how they affect self-esteem. Our conscious represents our judgment, reason, and liberty. The unconscious is in the depth of our psyche. We then need the unconscious forces subdue to the control of the conscious. It is like a carriage pulled by a horse and conducted by a coach driver. If the coach driver – who represents the conscious – falls asleep, then the horse – which represents the unconscious – can deviate in any direction ending up in a ditch. Therefore, what we need is a control of the conscious over the unconscious. This concept is important to understand because it is the basis of our technique, which aims at reducing the insidious role of the unconscious and defeating our fears. Our technique – as we shall see – is based on feeling an action firstly through the senses (vision, hearing, touch), and then inwardly like the air we breathe deeply which maintains the life. There is no better remedy than to plunge our conscious in the reality of the moment, to impregnate it with an external act, such that it is transformed into an internal feeling. When we are faced with facts as we see them, we shall be in a state of receptivity by living the present moment. By doing so, time after time, and by repeating it, we can reach liberty and free ourselves from the situation that imprisons us. To improve our Self-Esteem we need to work on our conscious and unconscious in an automatic way. This is precisely what the Rapid Improvement Self-Esteem method does.

Having confidence means that you trust yourself and often trust that your actions will lead to a successful outcome. Even if you may not always succeed you still believe that you have a self-assurance.

If you do not believe in yourself why would you expect others to believe in you?

As a leader you need to have Optimism and positive attitude, especially when faced with adversity.

How do you expect to have inspiration and vision if you do not trust yourself? If you are not ready to take risks?

How do you expect to inspire others?

Self-Esteem and self-confidence are a key to leadership.

Self-confidence and self-esteem are closely intertwined. Self-esteem is the degree to which you like or dislike yourself.

Self-worth means how much you value yourself. In a way it is synonymous to self-esteem.

People differ in the degree to which they like or dislike themselves. This trait is called self-esteem. Because self-worth and self-esteem have a direct impact on life, substantial academic and psychological research has covered these interesting subjects. For example, self-esteem was found to be directly related to expectations for success: people who possess high self-esteem believe they hold the ability they need in order to succeed at school, university, or at work.

Individuals with high self-worth and high self-esteem are also likely to take more risks, to choose unconventional jobs, to be less susceptible to external influence, and to be less prone to seek approval from others. Instead, low self-esteem is another way of saying you put little or no value on yourself.

Not surprisingly, Self-Esteem has also been found to relate to Confidence and to Locus of Control; a characteristic by which people believe they are masters of their own life.

How many people have the potential but are not aware of it? How many people could succeed if they increased their self-esteem by only a little?

The Rapid Improvement Self-Esteem or RISE Method was created by Professor Sam NASSIF, Ph.D., PCC after 25 years of personal research and experience. It aims at helping people improve their self-esteem and self-confidence which in turn can help them unlock their potential and transform their life.

Professor Nassif assures you that if you follow and apply the RISE Method not only will you boost your self-esteem but you will also (re)discover what your true potential is and how much you can accomplish.

Learning how to boost your self-esteem will lead you to a happier life. A lack of self-esteem is often the hidden source of several problems. Once you realize that self-esteem is the cause, then you can deal with it.

Self-esteem is a key component of self-confidence, which is crucial and determinant to a thriving life. Because self-esteem effects emotions, a low self-esteem causes negative feelings such as sadness, pessimism, resentment, regret, uncertainty, anger and fear of failure.

On the other hand, increasing self-esteem has a positive impact on emotions and results in joy, peace, optimism, serenity, kindness, empathy, self-confidence and generosity.

The good news is that self-worth and self-confidence can be gained and improved.

Our aim is to help you overcome your barriers and obstacles due to low self-esteem and to help you trust yourself and attain a happier life.

The RISE method is an efficient tool that will unlock your potential and let rise your best qualities. The method is easy to learn, simple to apply and leads to impressive results. In only three month-time and 3 to 8 minutes per day you will be able to rapidly improve and boost your self-esteem and self-confidence. With RISE you shall reach deeper understanding and encounter strong emotions. You will build a high level of self-esteem that will change your life.

It is a fact that negative emotions are observed with low self-esteem: anger, envy, jealousy, pessimism, regret, greed, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, uncertainty, and fear from failure.

Some people believe that they are masters of their own destiny. Other people see themselves as pawns of fate, believing that what happens to them is due to luck or chance. The first type of individuals – those who believe that they control their destinies – have been labeled “internals”, whereas the latter – who see their lives as being controlled by outside forces – have been called “externals”. Research has consistently shown that “internals” are more satisfied with their lives and have better health, since they believe that health is under their own control through proper eating habits, exercising, and the like.

What is the relationship between the “Locus of Control”  and Self-Esteem? It seems that “internals” when encountering a problem do not blame but themselves. They take responsibility for their decisions and actions. The evidence indicates that accepting accountability for success or failure increases the person’s self-esteem. Therefore, “internals” will take more risks and consequently will create more occasions for success.

A great deal of research confirms that people with high self-esteem are satisfied with their life and work. In addition, when your self-esteem increases, it changes for the better your Locus of Control.

The relationship between self-esteem and emotions is of such import on life, that it cannot be ignored: having low self-esteem is a terrible thing because it can affect every part of our life.

Research on Emotional Intelligence shows that having it is a good thing. By developing our self-esteem we develop our emotional intelligence and reciprocally.

A good deal of the Emotional Intelligence is to learn about one self’s emotions.

Emotional Intelligence is “an array of emotional, personal, and social abilities and skills that influence one’s ability to succeed in coping with environmental demands and pressures”. In short, Emotional Intelligence takes into account the way emotions are used in everyday life to benefit individuals. It also encompasses the fact that emotions can also be detrimental if not managed well.

The first thing is to “become conscious of own feelings, and understand feelings of others in order to have effective relationships”.

Imagine having the strategies and tools you need to manage yourself and your emotions when you are feeling upset, angry or irritated! Learning how to improve your emotional literacy and being able to handle situations to your best advantage is a key concept which will lead to increasing self-esteem.

Emotional Intelligence theory shows people with high E.I. are more likely to be happy and productive. They are more confident and have less stress in their lives. In fact, people with good emotional intelligence generally do better at work and home because they are able to manage their feelings and be self-aware. These people are able to feel empathy for others and read others’ emotions, thus preventing conflict.

The good thing that everyone, no matter their age, has the ability to improve their Self-Esteem through exercises and persistence.

In the Emotional Intelligence, the self-esteem component is often associated with feelings of inner strength and self-confidence. Having high self-esteem has an impact on other areas of emotional and social functioning. Those who are assured of themselves generally have more energy to realize their true potential (self- actualization), have more positive outlook and optimism, are more able to express themselves with confidence, and are more satisfied with their lives.

Among the many outcomes of high Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence are positive attitude and happiness. High self-esteem leads to happy dispositions and to less stress symptoms, which in turn help derive a great deal of pleasure in life and at work.

Rapid Improvement Self-Esteem is built upon Emotional Intelligence and will indeed help boosting self-esteem and self-confidence.

We welcome you to RISE Self-Esteem and thank you for your trust in believing in our Method. As you may know, it is demonstrated that people with high Self-Esteem are satisfied with their life and work; they tend to be happier and more successful; they take more initiative, and are more willing to act and take risks. The benefits of high Self-Esteem are self-confidence, self-assurance, a general sense of well-being and positive feelings.

This new technique which you can find on riseselfesteem.com represents a major advancement that will transform your life. The Rapid Improvement Self-Esteem or RISE, is an unprecedented method which is simple to learn, easy to apply and leads to impressive results. The method is based on connecting behavior and emotions, which helps get into action, moving forward, developing and improving self-esteem.

The good actions system is the activity to build self-esteem; it triggers emotions, which in turn result in improving self-esteem and lead you to achieve your fullest potential. Good actions create feelings and affective states that influence the memory. Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, and your values become your destiny.

Most of all other techniques propose the same similar techniques : Meditation  – Auto-Suggestion – Rejecting the negative thoughts (but they don’t tell you how to change your thoughts) – Creating compassion for yourself (is it effective?) – Visualization (takes some time) – Hypnosis and self-hypnosis (self-hypnosis would work but you need to learn it correctly and it takes time) –

Why RISE work?

There are 3 conditions for RISE to be very successful:
